Sports Desk: Nearly 250 Sony Cameras Will Capture Super Bowl LIX

Are you ready for Super Bowl LIX on February 9? Sony is: The company, an official technology partner of the NFL, has worked alongside the major broadcasters for the Super Bowl for over a decade. Last year, CBS Sports used 165 Sony cameras for its Super Bowl LVIII coverage, a then-record amount. For this year’s game on FOX, that number is up to a new high watermark of more than 240 cameras. notes PetaPixel. Crime Blotter: Drone Pilot Who Crippled an LA Firefighting Plane Pleads Guilty

On January 9th, 56-year-old Peter Akemann flew his DJI Mini 3 Pro drone far beyond the legal limit of his ability to see — and into a Super Scooper water dumping plane fighting the Los Angeles Palisades wildfires, grounding it for repairs after punching a hole in its left wing. Now, notes The Verge. Akemann has agreed to plead guilty — possibly escaping a year in prison in exchange for 150 hours of community service in support of wildfire relief and the roughly $65,000 it cost to repair the plane. State of the Art: Designers Say AI is Making Stock Image Sites Unusable

AI is supposed to make things quicker and easier, but the technology is making some tasks more difficult, notes Creative Bloq, which reports that some designers who use stock image libraries to source photos, illustrations and vectors for their projects are finding that they have to wade through more unusable content to find an image that suits their needs, adding more time to their workflows. Writing on Reddit, one in-house designer complained that AI-generated images were cropping up in Adobe Stock searches even when "exclude Generative AI" is selected.   Read the full Story >>
