The 2024 edition of the Festival of Ethical Photography, under way in Lodi, Italy, through Oct. 28, “offers an opportunity to get to know the world through the photographers’ testimonies and to delve into such complex issues in a slow and in-depth way,” notes Paola Sammartano at L’Oeil de la Photographie. In Focus: Capturing the 'Human Towers' of Tarragona

Associated Press photographer and two-time Pulitzer Prize winner Emilio Morenatti got the light “just right” when he documented the human tower competition in Tarragona, Spain. The competition, in which people climb on top of each other to build “towers” up to 52 feet high, is one of the most important traditions in Catalonia, notes Morenatti, who photographed the largest tower from a narrow catwalk suspended nearly 100 feet over the event, using a 17mm wide-angle lens mounted on a Sony Alpha 1 camera. Media Watch: N-Photo Magazine Is Shuttered After 13 Years

After 168 editions, UK-based photography magazine N-Photo is being shuttered. Launched in October 2011 by Future Publishing and billed as the “100% Independent” magazine for Nikon users, the closure “is another nail in the coffin for the once-vibrant photography magazine industry and print media in general,” notes PetaPixel. Subscribers to N-Photo have automatically had their subscriptions transferred to Digital Camera World, which is one of the brand’s sister titles.   Read the full Story >>
