For acclaimed British documentary photographer Martin Parr, that is the essential question that needs to be asked when taking pictures, notes WePresent from WeTransfer, which features a “manifesto” in which Parr explains 10 rules for emerging photographers. Among the rules: 1. Look and learn from other photographers; 2. Identify what makes you like their pictures; 3. Find a subject you feel strongly about; 4. Select the images you like and understand why they are interesting; and 5. Do more like that.

Earlier this year, London-baed South Indian photographer Keerthana Kunnath was researching female Kalari artists – an Indian martial art that originated in Kerala during the 11th century CE – when she uncovered a world of female bodybuilders in the region. The result, notes the British Journal of Photography, is her project” Not What You Saw,” an exploration of unconventional femininity. “While we often encounter women in roles such as doctors, nurses, teachers, or the occasional police officers, the presence of a female bodybuilder is unprecedented,” she says.

Adobe bought Frame.io in 2021, when the cloud-based service was best known as a collaborative video-editing tool. But it has increasingly been used as a photo-editing collaboration tool, too. Now, notes Digital Camera World, the company is launching Frame.io Version 4, which will allow users of Adobe Lightroom to store images in their Lightroom library as they shoot and allow them to collaborate over the cloud with someone, say, who is editing the images they are shooting at a wedding.
