Exhibitions: Capturing the Trauma that Follows a Flood

Photojournalist Gideon Mendel began thinking about documenting climate change in 2007, when his children were 8 and 5. As he neared 50, he wondered: “What might the world be 50 years ahead, when they were my age?”  The result, notes NPR, was his remarkable series “Submerged  Portraits,” which picture victims of floods posing amid the high waters in front of their inundated homes.
