The United Launch Alliance, the launch-service provider formed in 2006 as a joint venture between Lockheed Martin and Boeing, is cracking down on rocket devotees with cameras, notes Ars Technica. ULA recently announced a new "annual agreement" that will prevent photographers who place remote cameras at Space Launch Complex-41, the company's active launch site at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, from using their images for personal purposes or selling prints. Legend Elopement Photography Awards Wednesday August 7, 2024
Who needs weddings when there are elopements to photograph? The Legend Elopement Photography Awards is a photo competition for elopement photographers to show off their documentary photography skills, notes Rangefinder, which spotlights recent winners. The contest honors “outstanding authentic storytelling, emotional impact, personality and strong composition,” note judges. All the winning images were taken at real elopements with 15 or fewer guests.

The iPhone 16 is just getting launched, but photographers may want to wait for the iPhone 17, declares Tech Radar. According to those rumors, at least one IPhone 17 model will, for the first time, include a variable aperture, allowing better control over depth of field, adds 9 to 5 Mac. Apple has so far had two ways you can creatively create shallow depth of field. The main one has been Portrait mode, which uses computational photography to create artificial blur. The second has been natural bokeh through longer focal lengths.
