With its newest Pixel smartphones — the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and the Pixel 9 Pro Fold — Google is once again pushing the limits of computational photography notes DP Review. The recently announced smartphones include new features made possible by AI technology, not only for photo and video but for things like Google's integrated Gemini AI technology. The Pixel 9 Pros include a triple rear camera system. The main (wide) camera is built around a 50 MP Type 1/1.31 (9.8 x 7.35mm) sensor with a 25mm equivalent F1.68 lens. There's also this new feature.

Getty Images was able to get photos from this summer’s Paris Olympics to customers within as little as 26 seconds from when they were taken, notes Axios, which explains how it was done. The company established an array of private 5G networks, allowing it to augment the wired ethernet connections it has used for years. Paris also marked the first Olympics where Getty used Starlink satellite modems as a backup network option. Almost none of the editing was being done in Paris—the first time Getty has gone fully remote with its Olympics editing.
