OpenAI has been sued by a YouTuber whose videos were transcribed and used to train its artificial intelligence system, opening a new front in the legal battle against companies leading development of the technology. The class-action lawsuit brought by David Millette in federal court in San Francisco builds off a report from The New York Times that OpenAI created of a speech recognition system called Whisper to transcribe audio from YouTube videos, with the aim of training the next version of ChatGPT, notes The Hollywood Reporter.

Fresh off her recent Bottega campaign starring A$AP Rocky, Carrie Mae Weems – the artist best known for her iconic Kitchen Table Series (1990) exploring themes of systemic racism and inequality – has unveiled a new billboard for Kamala Harris. Titled “Leading with compassion, not complaint,” the artwork features black-and-white images of Harris with the title as its caption, notes Dazed. The artwork is part of a series of commissions made as part of the Artists For Democracy campaign, which is co-chaired by Weems.
