Apply To: Action Against Hunger's 10,000-Euro Humanitarian Grant

Through August 31, the Action Against Hunger NGO is inviting photographers and other content creators to take part in the second edition of its Multimedia Grant for a New Humanitarian Perspective. The objective “is to launch a reflection on the future of humanitarian imagery. with its actors, in order to think together about its future evolution and initiate a new look,” notes Blind magazine. The €10,000 grant will go to a project yet to be developed or currently being developed, focusing on a humanitarian theme linked to the NGO’s fields on interest in country’s where Action Against Hunger—France operates.   Read the full Story >>

A fixture of ’90s fashion and culture, Campbell’s impact has endured, and now she’s the subject of a first-of-its-kind exhibition at London’s  the V&A South Kensington, which turns her life into art. Tech News: Pentax Is Back in the Game with the Pentax 17 Half Frame Film Camera

Two years ago, notes DIY Photography, Ricoh teased a project involving research and development for Pentax-brand film cameras. Now the company has revealed the Pentax 17, a half-frame film compact with a manual focus fixed prime lens. The Pentax 17 has a 25mm F3.5 lens, which works out at 37mm equivalent, reports DP Review. Its name derives from the horizontal width of the 17 x 25mm frames it captures. The company says the vertical format makes it similar to images shot by smartphones. Honor Roll: Image of Orangutan Wins Environmental Photo Award

ENVIRONMENTAL PHOTOGRAPHY AWARD   Monday June 24, 2024

A photograph highlighting the exploitation of a captive orangutan at a Bangkok zoo is the winner of the the 2024 Environmental Photography Award competition, which is run by the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation. Titled "See No Evil," the image, taken by photographer Aaron Gekoski, shows an orangutan stoically waiting for tourists to arrive for a daily show at Safari World Bangkok. “Young orangutans are captured in the wild and their mothers are killed," Gakoski said.
