We’ve been seeing a lot of tributes to cameras of the past, in part no doubt because of the popularity of early digital cameras among Gen Zers. A new video from Gordon Laing of Cameralabs looks back at the Sony Cyber-shot R1, first introduced 19 years ago—at the tail-end of the all-in-one bridge-camera heyday, notes PetaPixel. But, adds Fstoppers, the R1's innovative design and large APS-C sensor helped pave the way for future generations of fixed-lens cameras, such as the Sony RX10 series and the Fujifilm X100 series. Spotlight: Capturing Another Era in Dreamy Cairo

In 2019, Nour El Massry took a photo that would change his life: He snapped a photo of a large terrace in a historical building in the Garden City neighborhood of Cairo. The picture went viral and sent El Massry, a 29-year-old Egyptian photographer, art director and film production designer, on a new mission: to capture images of the city that transport viewers to another time.
