It’s the big Nine-O for famed primatologist Jane Goodall, and to celebrate the occasion 90 female wildlife and landscape photographers from around the world are offering work in a 90-day print sale that began on April 1. The Jane Goodall Institute and Vital Impacts, the non-profit launched by photographer Ami Vitale and Eileen Mignoni, have collaborated on the sale, with 60 percent of the proceeds going to the institute. Vital Impacts, supports individuals and organizations dedicated to protecting Earth and its ecosystems through art and storytelling. Vogue has more.

Astrophotographer, author, and educator Alyn Wallace, who achieved renown with his YouTube channel, died in Istanbul on March 28 at the age of 34. The cause, notes PetaPixel, was a severe infection that caused multiple organ failure. Alongside his popular YouTube channel, which has nearly 150,000 subscribers, Wallace published an acclaimed book, Photographing the Night Sky. The winner of numerous awards, Wallace also saw his work featured across publications including National Geographic, BBC Earth, and The Guardian.

As we’ve noted previously, next week’s total solar eclipse could be extra dramatic: The eclipse coincides with a period when the sun will be particularly active and it may will look very spiky—like a “very irritated little hedgehog,” according to solar physicist Scott McIntosh.
