An auction of May 2 devoted to photographer Vivian Meier features a collection of vintage prints, negatives, transparencies, and personal ephemera. Titled “Vivian Maier: A Singular Vision," the auction is the first to offer prints made by Meier—the nanny whose work was discovered in a storage unit after her death. The sale showcases the evolution of Maier’s photography: Lots include prints from her earliest camera work exploring the streets and landscapes of rural France. Proxy bidding is open until May 2.

Apple’s smartphone sales tumbled a stunning 10 percent last quarter, according to market research firm IDC. The may reason: iPhone sales in China fell sharply. “The company has lost momentum in China as nationalism, a rough economy and increased competition have hurt Apple over the past several months,” reports CNN. Samsung had been the top smartphone manufacturer for the past 12 years. Apple took the crown last year – but only for one quarter. Samsung took the top spot back in the first quarter of 2024, IDC reported.
