State of the Art: Reddit Strikes AI Content Licensing Deal with Google

Social media platform Reddit has struck a deal with Google to make its content available for training the search engine giant's artificial intelligence models, reports Reuters. The deal is worth about $60 million per year for Reddit, which, adds Reuters, is preparing for a high-profile stock market launch and is seeking to generate new revenue amid fierce competition for advertising dollars from the likes of TikTok and Meta’s Facebook and Instagram.   Read the full Story >>

Legal Brief: Oct. 7 Survivors Sue AP For Hiring Photographers 'Embedded' With Hamas

Several survivors of the Oct. 7 attack in Israel have sued Associated Press, accusing the news service of aiding and abetting Hamas by hiring freelance photographers “embedded” with the organization. The plaintiffs — including Israeli-Americans and Americans who attended the Nova music festival raided by Hamas as well as loved ones of victims — are suing for damages under the Antiterrorism Act, notes the New York Post.
