YouTube will let users incorporate or “remix” a music video in their short-form videos, called Shorts, as the company continues to challenge TikTok. “Given that YouTube has something that TikTok doesn’t, which is a vast library of official music videos, it makes sense for the platform to leverage it to advance its short-form video ambitions,” notes TechCrunch. The move also comes a few weeks after Universal Music Group pulled its song catalog from TikTok. TC details what tools you can use when remixing a music video.

Photographer Helga Paris, who grew up in the former East Berlin and became known for vividly capturing everyday life in the Soviet zone, died on Feb. 5, notes DPA International (via Yahoo). She was 85. Born in 1938 in what is now the Polish town of Goleniów, Paris studied fashion design and initially worked as a graphic designer before teaching herself photography in the 1960s. In 1966 she moved to Berlin's working-class Prenzlauer Berg neighborhood, where she photographed women employed at a clothing factory, men drinking at their local pub, and lonely figures walking along empty Berlin streets.

“Dreamy yet dazzling, mysterious and compelling.” That is how New York’s Howard Greenberg Gallery describes the acclaimed French photographer Sarah Moon’s work. Through April 6, the Greenberg Gallery presents the exhibition “On the Edge: Sarah Moon,” which features work spanning four decades and ranging from fashion images to landscapes from Coney Island and Tuscany. “All along, I tried to avoid the anecdote, looking for an echo between what I see and what I feel,” says Moon.
