We face a new deluge of images created with artificial Intelligence that, however artful or convincing, are at a remove from the world. Trending: 'Holy Grail' Nikon 13mm f/5.6 Lens Sells for $50,000

A Nikon 13mm f/5.6 dubbed the “Holy Grail” of camera lenses was recently sold for $50,000 on eBay, notes PetaPixel. Sold by the Houston Camera Exchange, the lens was described as being in “excellent” condition. “It is something that has been in our collection for decades now,” said Houston Camera Exchange team member Brenda Uribe. There are estimated to be only 350 of these lenses in the entire world. Introduced in 1977, the lens was discontinued in 1998 and is lauded for having virtually no distortion despite its ultra-wide field of view.   Read the full Story >>

She was on hand when the 118th Congress convened on Jan. 3 and the House of Representatives, with its slim Republican majority, failed to elect a speaker. “What I thought would be a one-day election turned into a weeklong power struggle,” Jiang tells CNN. The photo presentation series Projections will continue featuring the work of photojournalists covering the war in Ukraine next week. “Our platform remains committed and will not allow the lights to go out on the Ukrainian/Russian war. Journalists continue to put themselves in harm’s way as they heroically report from the front lines,” notes Projections organizer Frank Meo. Photojournalists including Ken Cedeno, Svet Jacqueline, Alan Chin, Wolfgang Schwan, William Patrick and Subject Matter Expert Katria Tomko will present work and talk about their experiences.
