Join photographers  Nancy Farese and Liam Sharp virtually for a Projections event on Jan. 24. Farese uses photography, collages and thread to create a visual memoir of growing up in the American South in the 1960s. Her work examines segregation and female identity as she looks at the concept of memory and "the stores we tell ourselves." Passings: Hans Feurer, Who Captured Fashion and Sensuality, Dies at 84

Hans Feurer, a prolific Swiss fashion photographer best known for his sensual images of models, including work for the 1974 Pirelli Calendar, died on Jan. 16 at age 84. Feurer rose to prominence in the late 1960s when he landed in London at age 22. His Pirelli Calendar, shot in the Seychelles, and 1983 Kenzo campaign, in which he captured supermodel Iman on the Spanish island of Lanzarote, are continuously referenced and cited for their role in rewriting the rules of fashion, notes Russh. Spotlight: Fine Art from Google Phones

Can you create fine art on smartphones? Of course, notes W magazine, which spotlights “exceptional projects” from the Google's Creator Labs program—an initiative that asks rising photography stars to use Google Pixel cameras. The imagery comes from the likes of Kennedi Carter, Furmaan Ahmed, Amber Grace Johnson, Andy Jackson and Andrew Thomas Huang. “I was inspired by an ongoing project that I started earlier this year that utilizes a multi-exposure technique that I’ve developed,” notes Dana Scruggs.   Read the full Story >>
