Selfie-related deaths constitute a new public health risk, notes PetaPixel, citing a newly published research paper. The authors of the paper scraped news reports of selfie-related deaths as well as a cross-sectional study by the iO Foundation that found 379 people were killed while taking selfies around the world between January 2008 and July 2021. The most common deaths coming about from people falling off cliffs and waterfalls while taking a photo.

Twenty-eight year old Ghanaian photographer Prince Gyasi was in L.A. when he got a call from the Italian tire company Pirelli asking him to fly to New York to talk about shooting the newest edition of the company’s much anticipated calendar. He got the job, becoming the first black photographer to shoot the calendar since its launch in 1964. The theme of this year’s calendar is "timelessness," which is represented perhaps most literally through a shot of evergreen supermodel Naomi Campbell standing in front of a melting clock, notes The Guardian.

Almost eight years after its announcement at CES 2016, Kodak’s new film camera is due to be released. Kodak’s global managing director for motion picture, Vanessa Bendetti, tells The Verge that the company expects the camera to go on sale in limited quantities in the US this month before releasing in Canada, the UK, and other European markets. The analog camera comes with a lot of modern digital touches that mimic the shooting experience of mirrorless cameras, adds PetaPixel. For example, it features an SD card slot for audio recordings and a 4-inch LCD display to assist during shooting.
