What the world is going to need in 2024 is comfort—and, notes color authority Pantone, the hue that will provide the needed serenity is Peach Fuzz, or Pantone 13-1023. “We’re going through a lot of turmoil in our lives, and we have a need for a color that’s nurturing,” Pantone color specialist Leatrice Eisman tells CNN, which notes that Peach tones have been a fixture of the Spring-Summer 2024 runways, with Italian houses such as Gucci, Jil Sander and Sportmax leading the way. Next year marks the 25th anniversary of the Pantone Color Institute decreeing a color of the year, adds The Washington Post.

Panasonic will release a firmware update for the Lumix G9 II that will allow the camera to send Blackmagic RAW and ProRes RAW over HDMI to a compatible recorder, reports PetaPixel. Panasonic says the goal of this update, firmware version 2.0, is to give the G9 II the ability to be more flexible and adapt to more workflows. With the update, the Lumix G9 II will be able to send RAW recording out to either a Blackmagic Design external recorder or an Atomos external recorder in BRAW and ProRes RAW, respectively.

After moving from Moscow to Kyiv a year and a half ago, Russian journalist and photographer Victoria Ivleva has been documenting the impact of the war in Ukraine on the country’s people, notes The Moscow Times. Ivleva, who during her career covered conflicts in the former Soviet republics, Africa and Afghanistan — in 1991 she became the only photographer to go inside of the fourth unit of the Chernobyl nuclear reactor — says covering the war has been her most difficult work. “This war is the closest to me emotionally, mentally, and in every other way," she says.
