Besides being a founding member and vocalist of the ’60s pop group 5th Dimension, LaMonte McLemore was the photographer behind JET magazine’s “Beauty of the Week” column—glamour shots of Black women, most of whom were not professional models. The work helped highlight African American women in the media and culture, notes powerHouse Books, which has collected McLemore’s images in the new book Black is Beautiful: JET Beauties of the Week. It’s a tribute to Black fashion and elegance, says powerHouse.

Since 2006, people in the village of Menie, on the east coast of Scotland, have been embroiled in an increasingly bitter battle with Donald Trump after he purchased the Menie Estate and declared that he would “build the greatest golf course in the world” there. “[T]he people of Menie refused to bow down, sell up, or be pushed around,” notes the British Journal of Photography, with spotlights a project by photographer Alicia Bruce that documents their resistance. The work is collected in the book I Burn But I Am Not Consumed.

Adobe is warning investors it could face a sizable fine from the Federal Trade Commission, which, notes PC Magazine, has been investigating the company’s subscription cancellation practices. Users claim that Adobe's unsubscribing process is overly complicated and includes unfair additional fees, leading the FTC to issue a subpoena to the brand in June 2022, adds Creative Bloq. The FTC put forward proposals in March 2023, suggesting a new “Click to Cancel” requirement for managing subscriptions, notes DIY Photography.
