Photography-on-the-Net, one of the original digital photography forums and perhaps one of the most prominent of the time, is shutting down at the end of 2023, reports PetaPixel. Running continuously since April of 2001, Photography-on-the-Net has acted as a digital gathering place for digital camera enthusiasts, professionals, hobbyists, and generally anyone interested in photography. The site operates a number of forums on gear as well as places to discuss photos and techniques. Who’s the biggest pop star on the planet right now? Taylor Swift, who recently released the re=recording of her 1989 album (and whose Eras tour has made her a billionaire). And who wants to tap into that popularity? Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley. MTN notes that her campaign has posted images of Haley styled like Swift’s new album and copied Swift’s The Eras Tour poster, including the tint of the background photos. Photon, an iOS app for pro photographers, is introducing a new feature that will allow iPhone 15 Pro users to save their photos directly to an external drive, freeing up valuable disk space on their device. The app was launched this July to cater to a more professional audience with tools for adjusting focus, shutter speed, ISO, white balance, format and resolution, among other things, notes TechCrunch.
