In the Northcote suburb of Melbourne, Australia, an enclave known for its coffeehouses and music clubs, one building stands out: the home and studios of the photographer Bill Henson. Like Henson’s acclaimed work, the ivy-covered two-story brick monolith is a study in light and shadow. Social News: TikTok is Testing 15-Minute Videos

TikTok wants to own even more of its users’ time: TechCrunch reports that the platform is testing 15-minute uploads in select regions with a limited group of users. TikTok initially gained fame for being the most popular short-form video platform, but it has slowly been embracing long-form content, adds TC: The company expanded its maximum video length to 10 minutes, up from three minutes, back in February 2022. State of the Art: Will This Amazon Tool Spell the End of Product Photography?

Amazon is beta testing an AI image generation tool that, it says, is “designed to remove creative barriers and enable brands to produce lifestyle imagery that helps improve their ads’ performance.” The tool, notes DIY Photography, allows advertisers to replace “boring white backgrounds” of product photographs with more interesting scenes. Amazon says putting products in a lifestyle scene can lead to 40 percent higher click-through rates, notes The Verge. “The image generation capability is easy to use and requires no technical expertise,” declares Amazon.   Read the full Story >>
