Instagram has started allowing some users to create polls in the comments on their posts, “giving creators yet another way to milk their content for more engagement,” notes Engadget. Polls in the comments section will look much like they do in Stories, where they’ve already been available to users in the form of a sticker. At present, it’s unclear how long polls will remain open after they’re posted, or if users will have the option to choose from different time frames to continue receiving votes, as users can on Twitter.

Panasonic will release a firmware update for the Lumix S5 II and S5 IIX today that will add three new features, including the ability to create a high-resolution, 96-megapixel, eight-second, handheld exposure. The Lumix S5 II and S5 IIX were announced this past January as the first Panasonic mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras to feature phase detection autofocus, notes PetaPixel. Panasonic also added the ability to capture 96-megapixel high-resolution photos in-camera, a feature that has existed in its Micro Four Thirds Cameras.

For three decades, Viviane Sassen has been constructing a surreal and photographic universe that draws on the expressive and emotional power of light, notes AnOther. Now the Dutch photographer is the subject of an upcoming retrospective at Maison Européenne de la Photographie in Paris (and a book), both titled Phosphor, which derives from Greek, meaning “bringer of light.” The book and show lend insights into the inner workings of the photographer as a young woman, adds AnOther.
