When Euphoria first aired in 2019, the HBO show quickly became known for its distinctive visual aesthetic. Now, notes PetaPixel, photographer Petra Collins has accused Euphoria director Sam Levinson of ripping off her work to create the look of the series. According to reports, Collins has claimed that Levinson reached out to the agency that represents her prior to filming the show. Levinson explained that he had written Euphoria after being “inspired” by Collins’s photographs and approached her to direct the television show. Collins alleges that she worked on Euphoriafor about five months before being dropped by HBO for being “too young.”

The Everyday Projects has announced the winners of its 2023 grants, which are aimed at supporting photojournalists from diverse backgrounds as they develop their craft. This year’s winners are Mihaela Aroyo and Jaír F. Coll. Aroyo’s project “Root” explores the feeling of identity of the Bulgarian diaspora. Coll’s winning project “B-Migrants” focuses on Venezuelan migrants in Colombia and their passion for breakdancing. Each of the two recipients receive $6,000 and mentorship from photographer Kiana Hayeri and photo editor Jennifer Pritheeva Samuel.

More content on YouTube is going to be created at least in part using generative AI, notes The Verge. The video platform has announced several new AI-powered tools for creators that will be coming later this year or next, Among the new features is one called Dream Screen, which will create AI-generated videos and photos that creators can place in the background of their YouTube Shorts. AI tools will also begin informing what kind of content creators make: A new AI feature in YouTube Studio will generate topic ideas and outlines for potential videos.
