Tom Hanks has warned his 9.5 million Instagram followers not to fall for a dental plan advertisement that appears to use his face but which he says is using an AI version of him, without his authorization. He shared a still from the video, showing what looked like a young Hanks dressed in a suit jacket. Hanks has previously been vocal about the use of AI in the entertainment industry, notes Sky News. “We saw this coming,” he said in a podcast with British comedian Adam Buxton in April. “We saw that there was going to be this ability to take zeros and ones inside a computer and turn it into a face and a character.” Meanwhile, noted Mashable, YouTuber Jimmy Donaldson, aka MrBeast, has warned about a deepfake video using his likeness to advertise an iPhone 15 giveaway.   Read the full Story >>

There’s also going to be a solar eclipse next April 8 that will cast a shadow across North America, notes DIY Photography. A new map created by The Planetary Society and The Eclipse Company will help photographers select the best location from which to see both. Books: Chloe Sherman's "Renegades"
