YouTube is offering creators a second chance if they violate the company's community guidelines, notes Mashable. After being given a warning about their content, miscreants will be allowed to complete an educational training course so that they can "stay in good standing" on the site. The new course is a variation on YouTube's existing strike system, in which breaking the rules once results in a one-week freeze on uploads. Two strikes is two weeks and three strikes means your channel is terminated.

Photographer Jatenipat Ketpradit is the winner of the International Photographer of the Year prize in the professional category in the inaugural reFocus World Photo Annual Contest for his series “Ghosts of Asaro,” which features indigenous warriors residing near the Asaro River in Papua New Guinea. Entrants from 70 countries submitted photos to the competition, making it reFocus Awards’ most geographically diverse contest yet. The winners of various categories are eligible for the overall “Photographer of the Year” and “Discovery of the Year” titles.

Tamron is developing a 17-50mm f/4 Di III VXD (Model A068) ultra-wide to standard zoom lens for full-frame Sony E-mount cameras, reports PetaPixel. The new lens is the world’s first to offer such a zoom range on Sony cameras. The 17-50mm f/4 lens for Sony mirrorless cameras is described as a wide-angle zoom with a constant f/4 aperture that covers the whole range between ultra-wide-angle to standard focal lengths, which Tamron says is a zoom range ideal for both still photography and video recording.
