Social News: After 'Aggressive Lobbying,' US Lawmakers May Change TikTok Crackdown Bill

U.S. lawmakers are considering changes to a bill that would give the Biden administration new powers to ban TikTok. Democratic Senator Mark Warner told Reuters that $100 million worth of aggressive lobbying by the Chinese-owned video app "slowed a bit of our momentum.” Warner said lawmakers have "a proposal on a series of amendments to make it explicitly clear" and address criticisms, including that individual Americans could be impacted or that the bill represents a broad expansion of government power. Exhibitions: Frank Stewart Gets His First Museum Retrospective

The Wall Street Journal calls Frank Stewart’s photography “visual music.” As Hyperallergic notes, Stewart is perhaps best known for his jazz photography, though he has also taken images of “art, joy, love, and people’s environments in Africa and Cuba to the Caribbean and New Orleans” for three decades.  The exhibition “Frank Stewart’s Nexus: An American Photographer’s Journey, 1960s to the Present,” at the Phillips Collection in Washington, DC, through Sept. 3, is his first museum retrospective.   Read the full Story >>

Tech News: Sony Unveils a6700, an APS-C Mirrorless Cam with a 26MP Sensor

The newly announced Sony a6700— the company’s latest enthusiast-level APS-C mirrorless camera—uses a 26MP BSI CMOS sensor with image stabilization and can shoot 4K video at up to 120 frames per second and 11 FPS continuous shooting for stills.
