State of the Art: Will the Apple Vision Pro Save 3D Movies?

The newly announced Apple Vision Pro, a virtual/augmented reality headset that Apple calls a spatial computer, has been getting lots of attention (in part because of its price). NoFilmSchool wonders if the headset may change the way we watch movies, noting that a film series called Monarch: Legacy of Monsters(think Godzilla and other monsters of that story universe) will be shot on Apple’s Spatial Video format. Tech News: Nikon Gains Market Share in Japan With Z8

In the not-too-distant past, Nikon was losing ground to competitors and hurting financially. But things are different now: Nikon is gaining market share thanks to its Z9 model—and even more so because of the new Z8, which, notes Nikon Rumors, has been very popular in Japan. In 2020, adds PetaPixel, Nikon held a paltry 2.5 percent market share in sales from the Japanese store BCN+R. Now, just a bit more than three years later, Nikon’s share has grown to 12.9 percent, surpassing OM Digital to take third place among all major camera manufacturers.   Read the full Story >>
