Tech News: Canon Announces Much Awaited RF 100-300 f/2.8 L Telephoto Lens

It’s here at last, reports Canon Rumors: Canon has officially announced its RF100-300mm F2.8 L IS USM lens, answering calls from photojournalists and professional level customers for a modern 300mm f/2.8 equivalent lens. The $9,499 lens “is a bit of a monster,” adds DIY Photography, although Canon says it’s the lightest f/2.8 zoom lens with a 300mm focal length on the market. The lens’s design includes one fluorite element and 4 Ultra-Low Dispersion (UD) elements. Fluorine coatings and Canon’s Super Spectra Coating (SSC) help to minimize ghosting and flare.   Read the full Story >>

Ukrainian war photographer Evgeniy Maloletka‘s striking image of an injured pregnant woman in Mariupol has been named the 2023 World Press Photo of Year. Maloletka has been covering the war in his home country since 2014. He arrived in Mariupol just hours before Russia began bombarding the city and spent 20 days living with paramedics in the basement of a hospital, notes My Modern Met. Legal Brief, 1,: Rapper Cam'ron Sued Over Iconic Photo of Himself

Rapper Cam’ron has been sued for allegedly using an iconic photo of himself wearing a pink fur coat on a slew of merchandise without the photographer’s permission. Photographer Djamilla Rosa Cochran accuses the Harlem Dipset rapper of profiting off of an image that she took of him in 2003. Along with Cam’ron, whose real name is Cameron Giles, Dipset Couture LLC is named in the suit, notes Hypebeast.
