“For many parts of Africa, to refer to the 1960s is to gesture broadly toward a time of great transformation: the postcolonial turn.” So notes the University of Chicago’s Smart Museum of Art, which features the exhibition “Not All Realisms: Photography, Africa, and the Long 1960s,” through June 4. State of the Art: Adobe Firefly Now Brings AI Tools for Text-to-Video Work

Advanced tech means you no longer need a TV studio, millions of dollars of equipment, and a team of editors, animators, colorists, and artists to produce professional looking video content, and now, notes Gizmodo, that tech is taking a big leap: A new version of Adobe’s Firefly text-to-image software brings tools that let you enhance, manipulate, and even edit videos with just a few typed commands. “Apps like Photoshop and Lightroom still require quite a bit of artistic talent and skill to make an image look its best, but Firefly simplified that process through AI,” notes the site.   Read the full Story >>

Astrophotography: A Total Solar Eclipse Will Sweep Over U.S. in One Year

Monday, April 8, 2024, will be a dark day for some Americans—at least for about four minutes: Residents in major cities including Austin, San Antonio, Dallas, Little Rock, Indianapolis, Cleveland, Buffalo and Rochester will see day turn to night for up to four minutes as the moon transits the sun and extinguishes its light, notes The Washington Post. It will be the first total solar eclipse to sweep across the country since Aug. 21, 2017.
