Meta is planning to launch its first full-fledged AR glasses in 2027, reports The Verge. The glasses will be able to project avatars as high-quality holograms superimposed on top of the real world — they're also expected to be quite expensive, notes Engadget. But Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg thinks they could be the next iPhone. Meanwhile, The Verge also reports that Google is no longer selling its Google Glass Enterprise AR headsets. Google says, however, that it is “deeply committed” to AR.

Known for his images of wildlife in the Boundary Waters region of Minnesota, photographer Jim Brandenburg has received numerous awards over his career, most recently National Geographic's Lifetime Achievement Award, an honor that's been bestowed on only five others, notes CBS News. "I feel a little bit embarrassed because I know many that should have had it before me,” Brandenburg says. The award was presented recently by the Photo Society, composed of 200 of the magazine’s photographers.

The future is getting closer: Levi's has announced it will begin testing AI-generated models on its e-commerce platforms, notes Fashionista. According to the brand, the AI models will help increase diversity by providing a wider range of sizes, skin colors, ages and genders. "It would be impossible for us to have models that cover every combination of race, ethnicity, age, body size, body type,” noted W Amy Gershkoff Bolles, Levi's global head of digital and emerging technology strategy. The company will work with AI tech company Lalaland.ai to create its range of models.
