Enter LEDCard – a DIY, credit card sized ring light that is sure to save the day, declares Digital Camera World. The open-source, Li-Ion powered, pocket-friendly ring light was created and shared by GitHub user Helge Wurst (MisterHW). The card can also double as a macro lens: It has a space that accommodates a molded acrylic lens, which can be inserted into the card base to produce high-quality and well-lit macro shots.

For the second year, PetaPixel’s experts have made their predictions about what will be happening in the camera market over the coming year. Among the predictions for 2023: Canon, Nikon, Sony, or OM-Digital will make a camera equipped with AI-based computational power akin to what is seen in smartphones. OM-Digital is probably the most likely candidate here since it has been making cameras that dabble in computational photography for the last several years. The Los Angeles-based Getty Research Institute has acquitired over 4,600 photographs taken across India and South Asia during the 19th and early 20th centuries amid the British Raj’s 89-year rule over the subcontinent, reports Hyperallergic. The collection, amassed by 19th-century photography dealers Ken and Jenny Jacobson over five decades, includes many images of the region as seen through a European lens and the Western gaze. The trove is set to be cataloged over the coming years.
