After adding some new features picked up from Twitter and BeReal, Instagram is finally launching something that’s actually useful, notes DIY Photography: If you’re having any access issues or your account may have been hacked, there is now a dedicated website just for that. Alternatively, you can ask your friends for help if you don’t have access to your account for any reason. Black and white is beautiful, and the proof is apparent in the winners and finalists of LensCulture’s Black-and-White Photography Awards. “Each of these award-winning photographers has made the deliberate choice to to create monochrome work: to limit their color palettes, to accentuate light and shadows, to show their worlds in shades of contrast and abstraction,” notes the site. Tech News: Panasonic's S5II and S5IIX, with Phase Detection AF

Panasonic's Lumix cameras have been a quiet but profound success in photography, notes Fstoppers, And now, adds PetaPixel, they’re getting better. The company has brought phase detection to its mirrorless cameras with the full-frame S5II and S5IIX, thanks to what the company describes as a newly developed 24.2-megapixel 35mm full-frame CMOS sensor powered by a new imaging engine, as well as an  “evolved” autofocus system Panasonic calls Phase Hybrid Autofocus, which increases the AF points on the sensor. What We Learned This Week: Will the U.S. Ban TikTok?
