We recently spotlighted Anthony Schmidt, a 14-year-old from Washington State with autism who is making a name for himself with his iPhone photos of model automobiles. The story now has another chapter: WAND reports that a retired photographer from Champaign, Illinois, Scott Christenson, decided to gift his old GMC RV to Schmidt. “I just couldn’t believe the talent that was there,” Christenson said. Schmidt says he has plans to renovate the RV, returning it to its 1970s glory, with touches including a shag carpet and disco ball. Read the full Story >>

Born and raised in hectic Lagos, Nigeria, Adeolu Osibodu began to make images of the natural world around him with his smartphone; he “just wanted to channel his emotions into a visual diary,” notes NPR. His photographic hobby became a consuming passion after a skateboarding accident. “That whole phase in my life gave me a sort of redirection and it gave me this strong sense of gratitude for time, for life and for being able to experience this craft,” he says. Earlier this year, RED Digital Cinema sued Nikon, alleging that the data compression technology it uses in the Z9 camera violated its patents. Now, reports Nikon Rumors, Nikon is denying RED’s accusations and says it will fight the lawsuit. While Nikon admits it was aware of the multiple lawsuits that RED has filed in the past for similar infractions, it argues that the claims that RED brought forward are “invalid” as they do not “satisfy the conditions of patentability,” adds PetaPixel.
