The Upper West Side is the new Chelsea: Aperture’s board of directors have announced plans to move into a new permanent home in a historic building at 380 Columbus Avenue, across from the American Museum of Natural History and blocks from the New York Historical Society and Central Park. Aperture has been located for nearly two decades in a fourth-floor space in Chelsea. The announcement of the move comes on the eve of Aperture's 70th anniversary celebration this fall, marked by the release of a special 70th anniversary issue of Aperture magazine. Artem Skorokhodko and Dmytro Zubkov, two marketing professionals, started preparing food in a basement of a pizza joint in Kyiv, Ukraine, before Russia’s invasion in February. They have gone on to found Behind Blue Eyes, a charity working to show childrens’ perspectives of life amidst war—and using the photography to raise funds for humanitarian aid. “[Kids] tend to photograph the places they feel good in, even if these places have been damaged or razed to the ground,” Skorokhodko tells the British Journal of Photography.

Coming shortly after GoPro announced its Hero 11 action cam, DJI has unveiled the Osmo Action 3—an action camera that allows you to shoot 4K video at 120 frames per second. TikTokers will be happy to note that the camera also lets you shoot video in a vertical format, notes DIY Photography. There’s also a longer-lasting battery with USB-C Power Delivery charging, adds DP Review. The Osmo Action 3 has electronic image stabilization as well as a D-Cinelike Color Mode for extracting the most from the footage in post-production.
