The text-to-image AI tool DALL-E 2 has been wowing artists, researchers, and others, but now, notes FastCompany, developer OpenAI is giving DALL-E 2 a new trick: the ability to extend the original images it creates beyond their original borders in logical and creative ways. The new feature, which OpenAI calls “outpainting,” could be useful to graphic designers who need to create multiple sizes and shapes of a particular image to present in different contexts. Ukrainian photojournalist Evgeniy Maloletka is the winner of the VISA Pour l’Image Visa d’Or prize for his coverage of the Russian siege of Mariupol. The 35-year-old journalist, who works for the Associated Press news agency, was – along with his AP colleague video journalist Mstyslav Chernov – one of the first journalists to enter Mariupol on February 23, an hour before the first Russian bombs fell, notes France 24. He finally quit the city on March 15, by which time it had been almost entirely destroyed by Russian shelling. Read the full Story >>

The creator economy is booming, says Adobe in a new “Future of Creativity” study. More than 165 million creators joined the global creator economy in the last two years, including significant growth in the U.S., with 34 million new creators, the report says. Adobe says that the continuing growth of the creator economy “is reshaping every aspect of culture and society, from the future of work to social causes to mental health.” One in four people are creators contributing photography, videography, creative writing and more to online spaces, notes Adobe.
