Books: Daniel Jack Lyons on Photographing Amazonian Youth

Photographer Daniel Jack Lyons makes his monograph debut with Like a River, a visualization of the social and political rights of underrepresented communities in the Amazon, notes Vanity Fair. Released in July by independent publisher Loose Joints, the collection of images was created while Lyons was in residency at and working with Casa do Rio, a community-based organization that celebrates and supports the cultural lives of Amazonian women and youth just south of Manaus, Brazil.   Read the full Story >>

“It’s starting, interest is waning in the Ukraine / Putin war – we cannot allow this,” declares Frank Meo of Projections, the streaming series in which photographers present and discuss their work. This week, Aug. 8 to 12, the series presents five photographers (one per night) who have been covering the war in Ukraine—Sasha Maslov, Alex Lourie, Heathcliff O’Malley, Heidi Levine and Marcus Yam.
