Dept of Ideas: Tracking Down Historical Music Photo Locations

“I have been recreating music history by photographing the original images of musicians and bands in the exact location where they were photographed many years or even decades before,” writes Steve Birnbaum at Bored Panda. His epic personal project, which began in 2010, has grown to include images of over 500 music locations, which he shares at Instagram. Art News: Brett Rogers to Step Down as Director of The Photographers' Gallery

Brett Rogers OBE is leaving The Photographers’ Gallery in London at the end of 2022, notes the British Journal of Photography. “Appointed to the post in 2006, Rogers has overseen major developments at the London institution, including its 2012 relocation from a two-building site in Great Newport Street to a purpose-made, five-floor converted warehouse in the heart of the West End, and the 2022 launch of the Soho Photography Quarter, a free and accessible public space in the streets round the gallery,” adds BJP. In Focus: Aftermath of Flooding in Kentucky

Honor Roll: Winners of Getty Images Inclusion Grants

Getty Images has announced the recipients of its 2022 Inclusion Grants, which aim to support emerging editorial talent within underrepresented groups, offering aspiring photojournalists the creative means and solutions to pursue education that will enable careers within the industry. The $5,000 grants, developed in partnership with Women Photography and Diversify Photo, go to eight photographers in fields ranging from multimedia and sports to news and arts and entertainment.
