Ukrainian-based company Iron Glass Adapters became the go-to company for Soviet glass. The war in Ukraine disrupted the company’s business, but it is now shipping lenses again, notes NoFilmSchool. Feats: Building a Frankenstein Camera to Shoot Ghosts

The mission: build a DIY large-format camera and use it to create double exposures to match the spirit photography of William H. Mumler—the 19th century photographer who made images of his clients’ deceased relatives. (The photograph of Mary Todd Lincoln with the “ghost” of her husband Abraham Lincoln was among Mumler's most famous.) YouTuber Markus Hofstätter shows how he did built such a machine in a new video. “We are supper happy with the results from our Frankenstein camera,” he notes. Industry News: Shutterstock Acquires Video-Content Marketplace Pond5; Names New Chairman

Stock photography giant Shutterstock has announced that it is acquiring Pond5, the world’s largest online marketplace for royalty-free and editorial video content. The transaction consists of $210 million of cash paid at closing. “Integrated with Shutterstock's workflow applications, this expansive content library enables Shutterstock's global customer community to create with confidence, and provides value to Pond5's 115K+ contributors,” notes the company. Shutterstock has also announced that Paul Hennessy, a company board member since 2015, will become its new CEO on July 1. Hennessy replaces Jon Oringer, Shutterstock's founder. Honor Roll: Abbey Road Music Photo Contest Shortlist

We mentioned previously that Abbey Roads Studios (and Hennessy)  was launching its inaugural Abbey Road Studios Music Photography Awards—and now the shortlist for the 2022 edition has been announced. Finalists in the Open category include Megan Doherty (best known for debut book Stoned In Melanchol, which documents her adolescence in Derry).
