New York photographer Jamel Shabazz is the recipient of the 2022 Gordon Parks Foundation/Steidl Book Prize. Established in 2020, the award provides a publishing opportunity for an artist whose work is informed by and extends the legacy of Gordon Parks. Since the late 1970s, Shabazz has been cataloging his iconic street photography in iconic albums, notes Culture Type. Now the work will be collected in book form. A New York City photography is being shamed after it was revealed he charges an extra $100 to take professional photos of plus-size models. William Lords came under fire for his pricing policy when model Megan Mesveskas took to TikTok to share a now-viral email she received from his photography studio, notes the New York Post. The email quoted $950 for Lords to shoot a “standard” model and $1,050 for him to photograph a “plus/curve” model.
