Honor Roll: Too Young to Wed Fellowship Winners

Too Young to Wed, a non-profit founded by photographer Stephanie Sinclair that aims to end child marriage globally, has awarded its annual Emerging Photographers Fellowship to two Afghan women, Tahmina Saleem and Mahbooba Hazara, notes The Washington Post, which features work by the photographers. The fellowship, sponsored by the International Women’s Media Foundation and Canon USA, supports work by emerging local photographers including, but not limited to, those covering issues of gender-based violence against women and girls.   Read the full Story >>

“From his intimate hotel-room self-portraits, which document travels around the globe with his boyfriend, to his portrait series of adolescent boys in the New England town of Fall River, American photographer Richard Renaldi is known for using photography to explore human relationships and identity,” notes Fotografiska, which is presenting a critique seminar with the photographer on Sunday, Feb. 6 (3 pm to 7 pm). “Richard will discuss each participant’s work and talk also about his various projects and his processes.  He is a remarkable individual whose work has deeply influenced portrait and ‘street photography,” notes educator Stephen Frailey, who organized the workshop.
