The exhibition “NUDE” at Fotografiska New York (Feb. 11 through March 1) aims to subvert the art world’s disproportionately male gaze, notes Dazed. The show, which previously was on view at Fotografiska Stockholm, brings a female perspective to the subject, featuring work by 30 artists from 20 countries. “NUDE addresses the centuries-long fascination with the naked body, and explores the balance between “the nude” as a simply aesthetical motif vs. an honest, natural and personal artistic expression,” notes the gallery. Metaphysic, the company behind the Tom Cruise deepfakes that went viral in recent years, has raised $7.5 million funding, reports Venture Beat. The London-based company develops artificial intelligence for hyperreal virtual experiences in the metaverse, the universe of virtual worlds that are all interconnected.
