For many of the past 35 years, Ragnar Axelsson, an Icelandic photographer, has joined the springtime expeditions of indigenous Greenlandic hunters, clutching his Leica against the Arctic winds. “In the vastness of Greenland there are places to be found where one gets the distinct impression of being alone in the world,” he notes. Axelsson’s 2021 book Arctic Heroes is an ode to this harsh and demanding place and to Greenlandic dogs and the lifestyle that they have sustained for millennia, notes The New Yorker. GNARBOX, maker of rugged date backup devices, is no longer operated by the people who founded and ran it for the last several years. According to Tim Feess, the company’s founder and former CEO, the original management team hasn’t been with the company since November. Starting in late November, some GNARBOX customers started to notice that they were unable to reach customer support. By early December, many had taken to Twitter to express concerns, only to find that they were not alone in their problems. Because of the global chip shortage, the Nikon Z9 flagship mirrorless camera won’t ship until October, notes DIY Photography, citing a report from Japanese camera retail giant Yodobashi. “, B&H has the Nikon Z9 available as a “New Item – Coming Soon” and you can go ahead and order one but there’s no indication as to when it might ship,” adds DIYP. In the meantime, though, Nikon has begun releasing video guides showing how to use the Z9’s mirrorless features. Both Canon and Sony have also had production delays. Read the full Story >>
