On Monday, March 10, the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco will host the second annual Bloomberg Businessweek Design ConferenceThe day-long event will bring together an international crowd of some of the world’s most forward-thinking design professionals spanning the disciplines of architecture, transportation, graphic design, technology, urban design, 3D printing, product manufacturing, data visualization, genetic engineering, corporate branding, and more. Among the presenters are: Neville Brody, Elizabeth Diller, Florentijn Hofman, Alison Pincus & Susan Feldman, Bre Pettis, and Hosain Rahman. 

"Over the last decade we've all seen how innovation and design are linked—and how the right design can change a company's destiny,” said Josh Tyrangiel, editor of Bloomberg Businessweek. “The exceptional group of designers joining us in San Francisco are leading their companies and clients to new territory and reimagining how we experience the world. It'll be great fun to hear them present, argue, collaborate, and challenge one other, while sharing their secrets for doing great and impactful work."

Led by creative director Richard Turley, Bloomberg Businessweek has been internationally recognized for its innovative design and surprising covers, winning the 2012 Society of Publication Designers Magazine of the Year award and being named the 2013 design studio of the year by Creative Review. The magazine, and the work of Turley and his team, have also won numerous other distinctions from ASME (American Society of Magazine Editors), D&AD (Design and Art Direction), Type Directors Club, Art Directors Club, and Society of News Design, among others, and have been featured in exhibitions including the 2012 “Designs of the Year” show at the Design Museum, London, and 2011-2012’s “Graphic Design: Now in Production” at the Walker Art Center, Minneapolis. Turley also designed American Illustration 32 and hosted the Ai32 Live Cover Project.

Charles Howell, senior producer on Alfonso Cuaron's space epic Gravity, is one of the presenters.

The March 24, 2014, issue of Bloomberg Businessweek will be a special double Design Issue devoted to ideas and discoveries generated at the conferenceThe issue will be available in print, online, and on tablet and mobile devices.
