Exhibitions: Yael Ben-Zion Explores Intermarriage

By David Schonauer   Wednesday January 15, 2014

Photographer Yael Ben-Zion’s exhibition “Internarried,” now on view at the La Galeria at Boricua College in New York City, explores a complex issue with insight and sensitivity. “The idea for the project sprouted from a short-lived campaign of the State of Israel that targeted Jews who were ‘lost’ to intermarriage,” writes the photographer. The New York Times recently talked with Ben-Zion about the work, which is also featured in a new book. There will be an artist’s reception at the gallery on Friday, Jan. 17, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm
