Merce Cunningham for Camera, Sunday, December

Throughout his long career, Merce Cunningham (1919—2009) continuously experimented with the limits of human movement, always gauging the historic
relevancy of his art, especially in relation to current technology and media. In the 1960s, he began collaborating with several experimental film and media makers to integrate their unique syntax of
framing and editing into his work. The program includes Cunningham’s collaboration with Charles Atlas, Nam June Paik, and Shigeko Kubota, which was staged for public
television.

Pioneer Works presents an evening of music starting at 6PM with a set by Smokey Hormel
+ Smokey's Roundup. Then French siblings Clara and Gaspar Claus will present Graphic Score, a short performance piece for painter and cello. The
night will conclude with a dance party led by La Sabrosa Sabrosura. On view: Chico MacMurtrie's / ARW's robotic
