The CCNY Photo Auction: 10.15.2013

The Camera Club of New York (CCNY) will hold its 8th Annual Silent Photo Benefit Auction next Tuesday, October 15, 6-8pm at Affirmation Arts, 523 W. 37th, New York, NY 10018.

Initiated in 2006, CCNY’s Silent Photo Benefit Auction has built a reputation among serious collectors and photo enthusiasts for its wide range of work, with images by outstanding emerging photographers as well as more established photographers. This year, works by Justine Kurland, Moyra Davey, Chris McCaw, Leigh Ledare, and Henry Horenstein, among others, are being offered.

A selection of auction photographs are featured in a video produced by Azhar Chougle & MarciaDuprat, with lively commentary by Elisabeth Biondi, Allen Frame, Matthew Leifheit, and Alice Sachs Zimet.

Preregister and save$35 online pre-registration, $50 at the door. All proceeds go to The Camera Club of New York (CCNY), a non-profit 501(c)3 arts organization that has been nurturing talented photographers since 1884.

Absentee and proxy bids: CCNY will process absentee/proxy bids until 10am on Tuesday October 15thInformation.

Founded in 1884 by the legendary Alfred Stieglitz, The Camera Club of New York remains a vital not-for-profit workspace, gallery, forum, and learning center, serving established and emerging photographers throughout the New York area. Through its many programs, including exhibitions, lectures, classes, and a residency program, CCNY is committed to providing an affordable space in which photographers can practice their craft. Its annual Photo Benefit Auction is its main fundraiser, which helps to sustain all of CCNY’s exciting and relevant activities.
