Daylight Celebrates 10th Aniversary at Photoville

Daylight, a non-profit organization dedicated to publishing art and photography books, celebrates its 10th anniversary this fall with the launch of four new monographs by American photographers Sarah Christianson (Homeplace), Henry Jacobson (Postcards Home), Sara Macel (May the Road Rise Up to Meet You), and Katie Murray (All the Queens Men).

In a panel discussion starting at 5:30 pm, Sarah, Henry, Sara, and Katie will talk about their work, and how it relates to family, tradition, and the home place. During the event, their books will be on sale and available for signing.

Next up at 7 pm is a 10th birthday party featuring beer, a screening of highlights from Daylight's multimedia program, and live music by the acclaimed New Jersey based group Thomas Wesley Stern.

Both events will take place in New York’s Brooklyn Bridge Park [above], the site of the second annual Photoville (September 19-29, 2013), a photo festival that launched last year to that presents a village of exhibitions housed in freight containers, along with artist talks, lectures, and workshops. Daylight’s events are being mounted in partnership with Photoville and the Brooklyn Book Festival (through Sunday, September 22), the largest free literary event in New York and one of America’s premier book festivals.
