NY Photo Festival Book Party
Day two of the New York Photo Festival brought rain, wind, and throngs of industry people from around the world to Brooklyn's Dumbo. Battling gusts that flipped umbrellas inside out, visitors explored the four main exhibitions and numerous satellite shows presenting some of the most innovative image making being done today.
From 11:00 am onward, presentations by Harrell Fletcher, Jeffrey Millstein, Donovan Wylie, Stephen Gill, Katherine Walkoff, Laurel Ptak, Tim Barber and Jen Bekman, among others, attracted capacity crowds to St. Ann's Warehouse.

The day's work of looking, learning and networking continued into the night as the festival's co-founders Daniel Power and Frank Evers once again welcomed visitors to powerHouse Arena for refreshments and dance music. With special areas for signed books by festival participants, and publishers powerHouse Books, Aperture Books and Schaden Books, a feeding frenzy ensued.

Correction: The May 13th edition, India: The Home and the World, erroneously quoted India's population as 1.3 billion. That's actually China's 2008 population figure; India is currently home to just 1.1 billion.
