Starting Thursday, September 5: Downtown Artists: Neighborhood Tour
Although the New Museum is closed during its expansion, it is still offering art programs IRL. This week marks the first of four guided walks exploring the artistic history of NoHo, NoLita and SoHo. On September 5, 14, 19, and 28, teaching artist will lead a tour of the homes, stuidos and hangouts of artists John Giorno (above), Lynda Benglis, Adrian Piper, Lorraine O’Grady, Keith Haring, and Jean-Michel Basquiat. The Clemente Soto Velez Cultural & Educational Center is pleased to announce the 27th edition of Open Studios. This year’s Open Studios weekend will feature five floors of visual and performing arts. Stay tuned for the full list of participating artists and organizations here. Throughout the weekend, enjoy participatory programming like free art-making activities, pop-up exhibits, poetry readings, film screenings and more. All events are FREE and open to the public.

October 1, 4 and 6: Jersey City Art & Studio Tour
Known as JCAST, this event celebrates its 35th anniversary with group brunches preceding afternoons wholly dedicated to artist studios and local exhibitions. October 10, 6-8pm: The High Line open Studios Preview
October 12-13, noon to 6pm: The High Line Open Studios Presents its 15th annual artists open studios
The artists of West Chelsea cordially invite you into their studios for “behind the scenes” visits. Come meet the artists and see where they create their work. This is a prime opportunity to purchase a wide range of affordable artwork — paintings, drawings, prints, textiles, mixed-media, photography, sculpture and more — directly from the artist, and without the gallery mark-up.
This year more than 60 artists in 9 locations near the High Line Park and West Chelsea Gallery District, including Westbeth Artists Housing, ArtStart, and more will participate.
The self guided tour begins at the West Chelsea Arts Building on West 26th Street. Pick up the MAP and event information in the lobbies at 508 and 526 West 26th St. and begin your artists' studio tour.

October 18–19: EFA Open Studios
Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts welcomes the public to explore 74 artist studios, along with a host of arts programming and exhibitions, all located in the EFA building in Midtown Manhattan. This event offers a rare opportunity to witness the creative process up close and engage with a vibrant community of professional artists.
Our internationally recognized members, each with established studio practices and career honors, will open their doors to showcase their most recent works. Additionally, the EFA Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop and EFA Project Space will be open for special events and tours, providing firsthand experiences of the transformative power of art.

October 19, 2-6pm: Brooklyn Army Terminal Open Studios
Explore the studios of 100 local artists at the iconic. Meet the artists, purchase original pieces, and get inspired. For one weekend only, Chashama’s studio hub at Brooklyn Army Terminal is open to the public. Explore new works in 96 visual artist studios, interact with our talented studio artists, and wander through this historic Brooklyn Army Terminal during our Open House New York.
This event is done in tandem with Open House New York and The New York Art Residency and Studios Foundation‘s, Sunset Park Open Studios. Many arts organizations from across the neighborhood will be hosting events and open studios, so plan on spending the day and exploring the neighborhood.

Saturday-Sunday, October 21-22, 12-6pm: Gowanus Open Studios
Hosted by Arts Gowanus, Gowanus Open Studios is Brooklyn’s biggest celebration of local art and artists. For its 27th edition more than 350 artists and 70+ venues in the greater Gowanus neighborhood will open their doors, giving the public a rare glimpse inside the former factories, warehouses, and studio buildings of this vibrant neighborhood. Artists will be on hand to discuss their work, share their processes, and showcase their latest projects. Partner businesses in the neighborhood will be offering discounts.
