By David Schonauer   Thursday July 29, 2021

Photographer, designer, and creator Omi Kim captures the Japanese city of Osaka at night and in the process transforms ordinary sights into extraordinary visions, notes My Modern Met. Kim, who goes by Omi on Instagram, captures the highlighter-colored lights of Osaka cafés and lamp posts reflected on wet streets, then goes further, using Photoshop to isolate buildings on a moonlike surface and giving them unique visitors, such as astronaut-like characters and umbrella-carrying shoppers. It’s neo-noir, Osaka-style.
