Jean-Philippe Delhomme at FIAF

Art and fashion converged at FIAF Thursday night with the opening of Jean-Philippe Delhomme | Dressed for Art. In conjunction with Fashion at FIAF, the gallery presents a collection of watercolor drawings, along with three large paintings, that are infused with the artist’s tongue-in-cheek attitude.
Delhomme’s illustrations have been featured in magazines such as Vogue, W, Vanity Fair, GQ, and The New Yorker, among others. In this exhibition, he explores how fashion, contemporary art, and design interact with each other and influence today’s popular culture. In fact, if you ever wondered why Hunter boots became such a New York necessity a couple of seasons ago, just take a look at a post from Delhomme’s blog, The Unknown Hipster.

This collection of drawings brings Delhomme’s talent as a chronicler of contemporary culture to the forefront, highlighting his ability to capture the detail and nuance of the latest trends while infusing his incisive view of the fashion world with a heretical dose of humor.
Starting March 21st, a series of Fashion Talks with Pamela Golbin, Chief Curator of the Musee de la Mode et du Textile at the Louvre will bring three leading designers, Dries Van Noten, Stefano Pilati and Reed Krakoff, to the stage to discuss their collections, inspirations and experiences.
